Phono jacks are not designed to carry the kind of current needed to launch a rocket. They should NOT be used in the current path of any launch system.
There are plenty of connectors designed for high current connectopns: Molex, Jones, Anderson, even standard house outlets. Don't use the wrong connector for the job.
In addition, you could also use dual banana jacks / plugs that are sometimes used for speaker connections. Just don't bother with the $100 a pair Monster stuff for your rockets :-) I've used Pomona brand for many years:
Also check out the similar 1330 plug and matching 2143 socket. These are the perfect connectors for clip leads. And they are stackable, so you can plug one on top of another for applications like cluster or drag race.
